Once upon a time, there was a 10 year old nerd named Anastazia, who's now 17, sipping sodas, and sitting in bed typing this.
When I was 10, I began to venture onto the internet a lot. At this time, I was constantly drawing my two cats, Romeo and Majestic.
I had recently moved across the state, and was very focused on trying to fit in, and fell into the internet as a crutch.
At the school library, I discovered a book series. On the cover was three kittens: a grey tabby, a ginger tabby, and a pure black one with green eyes. Something I was drawn to was the fact that the grey tabby kitten was blind. This was a huge thing for me, as I qualified for seeing eye dogs with how bad my eyesight was, and would get teased by kids on the playground who kept stealing my glasses and laugh as I crashed in to walls trying to get them back. Thus, began my journey into the Warriors fandom.
This book series changed my life. All the way through highschool, I would be caught reading about fictional cat gang wars. Without this series, I would have never met the friends I have now.
Around 12-13 and having read the books, I ventured into YouTube and discovered the works of Miiroku
and instantly fell in love with their works. I discovered they had deviantART accounts, promptly made one named Hawkstar1100, and began to follow their art. At the start, my art was DEFINITELY not something special.
You won't find anything older than this:
I soon got a tablet, after just having MSPaint, GIMP, and a mouse. This is about when my art took off:
And oh god, let's not forget the evolution of Hawkeh.
She started out as a grey and white cat with a lightning bolt on her side, and grew into the brown deer you see today.
I met many friends, such as Panai
As I grew in my art, I soon met one of my best friend someNeko
in the comments of a piece by Miiroku
and boy was that the best decision I have ever made.
He and I became the bestest of friends, sharing the same interests, and all because we thought Mathew was a flareon and not a growlithe.
Throughout the years, he did a lot to shape me into the person I am now. He introduced me to so many more fandoms, including Homestuck.
I remember the hours a day we would play on FeralHeart together, and the endless skype calls. Those were the best. (:
We don't talk as much now, as he graduated highschool and moved across the country (although now we're on the same coast!!!!) and I am getting ready to start my senior year and spending a lot of time with a boyfriend who is about to leave for Basic Training for 6 months next month. But whatever the case, I still consider him to be my dearest friend.
Throughout these years, I admit that I never would have thought my most loved OCs would be a poop deer (yeah hawkeh ur a poop) and a sparklewoof who went through many changes. To think, Uso was just a wolf I colored in with highlighters during my 8th grade spanish class and named after a credits song in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Weeaboo sparkledog baby.
This website has its ups and downs, and although I am not active very often, I adore everyone I have met here and hope to continue my stay for as long as I do digital art!
